March Madness, weights and swimming

Although I'm in Texas, I grew up from 2nd grade to 8th grade in Durham, North Carolina, and had a job as a kid working at the UNC basketball games in the late 60's and early 70's. To say that I am an avid Tarheel fan is an understatement, and I love and follow ACC basketball, especially this time of the year. I don't know if my Tarheels will go all the way this year because they have a strong bracket to contend with just to get to the Final 4, but it's always a thrill to watch all of the games in this tournament. Watching these kids from all 65 teams pour their hearts into each game to me is what makes this tournament so incredible. If you've never watched it, be sure to watch the first round games today and tomorrow, there are always amazing finishes and huge upsets.

On to exercise, I hit the weight machines last night and then the stationary bike (upright) for about 30 minutes of hard pedaling. This morning I went to the pool and swam 30 laps (750 meters) and felt really good.

Fathful',

Thanks for your comment on my blog. We were near The Woodlands. The next time I'm down that way we'll plan to meet up. Also, if you're ever in the Dallas area be sure to let me know in advance.

Stay tuned...

PS: I just found out I've been invited to run in the Boston Marathon!

March Madness Rules...BTW Duke is better than a Tar Heel :)

Gripper, I'll forgive you for the typo about Duke being better than Carolina. You must have had your keyboard reversed when typing that sentence...

Congrats on your Tarheel victory! And how excited are you that Duke got bounced in the first round!!! Gotta love VCU!!!

Jess, I actually pull for all of the ACC teams, until they play UNC, then all bets are off.

AAAAHHHHHH I put my Duke hat away for the year tonight. Congrats on the UNC win. Now I need to find a team to root for in the Tourney, maybe Georgetown

Gripper, Georgetown???!!! I personally am hoping they get eliminated soon because I think they are the biggest obstacle in Carolina's way of getting to the Final 4 (permitted of course that Carolina wins its next 2 games to even have to play them). Anything can happen in this tourney.

well at least i picked Winthrop on my Yahoo tourney as my sleeper in the first round

I'm stunned that you can find it in your heart to pull for Duke being a Carolina fan....that's impressive.

I agree wtih Gripper...glad I had Winthrop too. But I was disappointed in Holy Cross.

Oh well, my bracket's still in decent shape. Terps tip of tomorrow at 3:30!

March Madness is one of the best times of the year. Where else can you see young athlete's just playing for the love of the game.

By the way, thanks for your kind comments about my Taz.
